It's been more than three years after Blizzard announced it would create a competitor to League of Legends and Dota 2, a game that finally has an official release date. Heroes Storm out June 2, 2015, brining with seven maps for players to face off using more than 30 characters taken from the famous Diablo, StarCraft and Warcraft series studio. Like other online games multiplayer battle arenas, or MOBAs as they are known, such as the League of Legends, Heroes of the Storm is free to download and start playing. Blizzard makes money on a game by charging for new characters and customization options.


The entire MOBA genre actually began with Defense of the Ancients, a fan-made mod for Blizzard's own Warcraft III, the popularity of which eventually inspired competitor Valve to make Dota 2. While the name is inspired by the game Blizzard DOTA, that no claim Valve brand and take advantage of opportunity to trademark the title. In 2012 when it was first announced Blizzard Blizzard DOTA, a game that would eventually become the Hero Storm, it sparked a legal battle with Valve in the name. In the end, Blizzard should change the title to Blizzard All-Stars. In 2013 the game was eventually renamed Hero Storm before going into extensive testing in 2014 alpha and beta testing in 2015.

Blizzard announced will host one of the last beta test for Heroes Storm began on May 19, shortly after the end of Heroes Dormchampionship eSports tournament. The final match of the tournament which will be broadcast on ESPN and WatchESPN network on 26 April 2015.
